A free shuttle loops both ways between Agawam Park in Southampton Village and Stony Brook Southampton (Admission Gate 2), 9 AM to 8 PM, Thursday June 18 to Sunday June 21. Here is how it works, plus every other way to reach the 2026 U.S. Open.
Shuttle provided by the USGA, operated by Hamptons Leisure Limo. Last updated June 17, 2026.

The shuttle runs a continuous loop between two stops. Ride from Southampton Village out to the course, then ride back whenever you are ready. It goes both ways all day, with no timetable, no permit, and no parking pass to arrange.
The two stops and the route between them. The shuttle loops in both directions.
Southampton Village stop
Board here to head to the course, and step off here on the way back. The stop is on the northeast side of the park along Pond Lane, marked with USGA Pick-Up signs, steps from Jobs Lane and Main Street.
Course stop, Admission Gate 2
Arrive here for the course, and board here to ride back to the village. It sits on Montauk Highway (239 Montauk Highway), the official Gate 2 arrival point, shared with the Hampton Jitney and ride-share drop-off.
The USGA built a full transportation plan with state and local partners. Here is the complete picture so you can pick what fits. For official times and parking passes, see the U.S. Open Fan Information Guide.

Taking the train? The LIRR Montauk branch adds service to a temporary Shinnecock Hills Station with a pedestrian bridge to the grounds.
Driving in? Use the free Blue Lot (west) or East Lot (east). There is no public parking at the course itself.
Coming by water or air? Ferries from Connecticut connect to the Blue Lot, and BLADE flies from Manhattan.
The USGA is direct about this: there is no public parking near Shinnecock Hills, and the surrounding neighborhoods are permit only during championship week. Illegal parking and unauthorized drop-offs are strictly enforced with ticketing, fines, and towing, so plan to use the LIRR, an official lot, or a shuttle.
Expect road closures around the course from roughly June 14 to 21, including sections of Tuckahoe Road and St. Andrews Road (see the Town of Southampton advisory below for the exact list). This is why the Agawam Park shuttle is easy for anyone near the village: you skip the permit zones and let the shuttle handle the Gate 2 drop.
The free Village shuttle is the easy option from Agawam Park. If you would rather have a private vehicle, an airport transfer, or daily door-to-door service from your hotel, that is the rest of what we do, with fixed pricing and no ride-share surge.
Yes. The Agawam Park shuttle is complimentary for riders. It is provided by the USGA and operated by Hamptons Leisure Limo as a service for the Village of Southampton during the 2026 U.S. Open.
Pickup is on the northeast side of Agawam Park in Southampton Village, along Pond Lane, where USGA Pick-Up signs direct riders. The shuttle drops at the Stony Brook Southampton campus on Montauk Highway, the official U.S. Open arrival point for Admission Gate 2.
The shuttle runs continuously from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM each day, Thursday June 18 through Sunday June 21, 2026, the four championship rounds. Because it loops all day, there is no fixed timetable, but plan your last ride back to Agawam Park before 8:00 PM.
Agawam Park sits in the heart of Southampton Village near Jobs Lane and Pond Lane, with the village's municipal lots and on-street parking nearby. Always follow posted signs and any Village of Southampton restrictions during U.S. Open week.
No. The USGA states there is no public parking in the immediate vicinity of Shinnecock Hills, and local areas around the course are permit only. Illegal parking and unauthorized drop-offs are strictly enforced with ticketing, fines, and towing. Use the official lots, the LIRR, or a shuttle.
Private cars and ride-share drop at the Stony Brook Southampton campus, accessed via Montauk Highway, the same Gate 2 arrival point as the shuttle. The USGA limits this drop-off to vehicles carrying 15 passengers or fewer, and no staging or parking is permitted there.
If you are in or near Southampton Village, the free Agawam Park shuttle is the simplest. The USGA promotes the LIRR to the temporary Shinnecock Hills Station as the most convenient overall. Drivers from the west use the free Blue Lot at Calverton, and drivers from the east use the free East Lot at the Hampton Classic grounds.
